Retinoblastoma most commonly presents with leukocoria in young children, often less than three years old. Leukocoria means “white pupil,” and is often detected when an abnormal white light is reflected due to the tumor presence as opposed to a typical red reflex from the retina. This is often identified by family members. Other signs of a retinoblastoma include strabismus, pain, retinal detachment, glaucoma, decreased visual acuity, or proptosis.
