Summer penile syndrome

Summer penile syndrome is typically associated with a hypersensitivity reaction to chigger or other insect bite. The typical presentation is a young male with penile swelling along with pruritus. It may also be associated with pain or dysuria. The foreskin is not entrapped and there is not an associated vascular concern like there is in paraphimosis. This course is usually self-limited and does not require specific treatment.
